Asbestos

Asbestos removal

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that was used until the 1970's is a wide variety of building materials such as fireproofing, insulation, cement products, flooring, wall compounds, roofing shingles, stucco putty, sealants and paint coatings. The adverse health effects associated with asbestos exposure can be a variety of cancers, circulatory and respiratory ailments. In accordance with applicable laws asbestos must be identified and removed prior to being disturbed by renovations or demolition activities.

Lead (Pb) is a metal that was used in a wide variety of building materials such as: water piping and solder, lead sheathing and in certain paint as a mold inhibitor. The adverse health effects to the human body associated with lead exposure can harm the circulatory and nervous system. Serious long term impacts to particular children including mental development are quite prevalent. In accordance with applicable laws, lead must be identified prior to being disturbed by renovation or demolition activities.

 

Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCBs)

PCB

Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCBs) were used in manufacturing processes, oil cooled products, transformers, ballasts, etc. PCBs have been banned by the EPA due to the adverse health effects to humans and animals. The adverse health effects associated with PCBs exposure can be circulatory, neurological and respiratory. In accordance with applicable laws PCBs must be identified prior to being disturbed by renovation or demolition activities. Toxic Substance Contract Act (TSCA) regulates activities associated with PCB removals.
